Do I need an eco-solvent printer for an Etsy sticker shop?
Usually no. For indoor decoration under ~500 sheets/day, a home inkjet with pigment ink is the right tool. Eco-solvent ($8,000–$40,000) only pays off at production volume, wide-format, or outdoor longevity.
Is home inkjet printing waterproof?
Only partially — pigment ink is water-resistant, dye ink is not, and neither is fully waterproof without a laminate. Eco-solvent prints are waterproof and last 3–5 years outdoors.
Which lasts longer outdoors, inkjet or eco-solvent?
Eco-solvent — 3–5 years versus 6–12 months for home inkjet. For vehicle wraps, window decals and banners, use eco-solvent; for indoor stickers, inkjet is adequate.

The mistake: spending $15,000 on an eco-solvent for an Etsy hobby, or trying to fulfil 2,000-piece-per-week orders on a desktop Epson.
