Problem Nº 01 of 10
Field Problem · Nº 01 Waterproof

“I need a sticker
that doesn’t peel
when it gets wet.”

Most “waterproof” stickers fail in real wet conditions because their material was never made for water. Here’s what actually works — graded on our 0–5 waterproof scale, lab-tested in-house.

The Euphora scale

Six levels,
measured not marketed.

Manufacturers love the word “waterproof.” We made a scale because it means different things to a beverage bottle than to a dishwasher. Pick the level your job actually needs.

0
None
Indoor only. Avoid all moisture, even condensation.

Materials at this level

Uncoated paper, Kraft (unlaminated)
1
Splash-resistant
Survives an accidental water drop. Not for ongoing wet contact.

Materials at this level

Field Notes

Questions we
get most weeks.

Q. 01
Is "waterproof" the same as "water-resistant"?
No. Water-resistant means brief, light exposure. Waterproof means it survives full water contact over time. We use a 0–5 level system so you know exactly what you're buying.
Q. 02
Will a waterproof sticker work on a coffee cup?
Yes — even at 90 °C. We test all three recommended materials in hot-beverage condensation. They hold.
Q. 03
Can I make a regular sticker waterproof with laminate?
Partially. A clear vinyl laminate takes you from Level 1 to Level 3. For Level 4 and above, you need the right face stock from the start.
Q. 04
What about dishwasher-safe stickers?
Only PET with UV-cure printing survives the dishwasher. Vinyl with inkjet or laser will degrade after two or three cycles.
Q. 05
How long does Holographic Inkjet last outdoors?
Six to twelve months without UV laminate. With our gloss UV laminate, twelve to twenty-four months. For permanent outdoor use, step up to vinyl.
