Curved-surface failure is conformability failure. The substrate’s ability to stretch and follow the contour without lifting at the edges. Most edge-lift complaints trace to using the wrong substrate for the actual curve.

Why does my label keep lifting at the shoulder?
The radius of the shoulder exceeds the substrate’s conformability. Step up to cast vinyl, or redesign the label to avoid the curve.
Q. 02
Can I use BOPP on cosmetic bottles with shoulders?
For gentle shoulders (large radius), yes. For tight shoulders or shouldered serum bottles, specify cast vinyl — BOPP creates edge lift.
Q. 03
How do I apply labels to compound curves?
Heat-application: warm the substrate to 45–60 °C, apply slowly, use a squeegee to expel air. For deep curves, specify stretch cast vinyl.
Q. 04
What about flexible squeeze bottles (HDPE)?
Compound surface plus low-energy substrate — specify high-tack adhesive on cast vinyl. Standard adhesives won’t bond.
