Variable data printing makes every label in one run carry different content — incrementing serial numbers, unique QR/barcodes, addresses, lot and expiry, or personalized text or images. A fixed template merges with an external data source (Excel/CSV/database/API) and the software maps content per label. It powers pharma serialization, medical-device UDI, anti-counterfeit tracking, GS1/SSCC logistics "license-plate" labels, and personalized promo codes. Native to digital presses (and added inline by hybrid presses) — it is the core advantage of digital over flexo.
